Description
DJs came on the scene in the late 80s. This is when, in New York City, in dance halls in Brooklyn, the Master of Ceremonies at a party would spin two records at the same time, occasionally talking over the beats to comment on the crowd, encouraging one young sexy couple, lambasting another for lack of style. From those humbe origins grew hip-hop and the notion of the hot young DJ, spinning vinyl records on a Technics 1200 and kicking the bass and the snare. Dance music incorproated these beats and added a layer of depth and sound. The DJs of the world are the new punk rockers and they're here to say.
